Remembering the Persecuted Church

Remembering the Persecuted Church

Persecution ranges from verbal and physical abuse to losing their livelihood, losing access to their children and spouse, and sometimes even losing their lives.

This week several of our Mission Global leaders met with those who have been and are being persecuted for their faith. One leader had had his church burned to the ground in a M community. Another had just had his good friend detained, and detained for activities that both leaders were doing. He and his family were wondering what this would mean for them and for their church. In both cases, they were filled with faith. The first leader saw a beautiful revival begin in the community where the church had been burned. The second leader was committed and decided to cross borders to finish his theological education, despite the risks involved.

PRAY for those who choose to follow Jesus that they would be strengthened and comforted by Holy Spirit.

PRAY for our brothers in prison in North Africa for following Jesus. May the Lord grant early release, health and most of all, his tangible presence to them today.

PRAY for those who suffer unjustly because of their faith that they would be rewarded.
