Purpose

To strengthen the English language capacity of students at Mwanza Christian College by assisting in their English as a Second Language (ESL) learning process. This role includes teaching an ESL course and providing ongoing support to students as they write papers and engage with academic materials in English. Your involvement will help equip students for greater effectiveness in their studies, ministries, and future careers.

Skills

• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Ability to teach basic ESL concepts (formal teaching credentials are not required; a motivated person with a high school diploma and proficiency in English could serve effectively
• Patience and willingness to work with students of varying English proficiency levels
• Ability to provide constructive feedback on written assignments
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and a learner’s posture
• Flexibility and initiative to engage where needed within the college community
