Cultivating Peace in Dar es Salaam

Cultivating Peace in Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city, bears a beautiful name – “Abode of Peace” – yet many around its streets remain far from the peace offered in Christ. Islam is the dominant religion. While there is a strong Christian presence, there are also many unreached communities: Gujarati, Eastern Punjabi, Somali, and others who have yet to truly encounter the Gospel. As the historic church raises its voice and stands in the gap for neighbors of different faiths, there is hope for a movement of faith, prayer, and transformation.

Let us join together in asking God to bring His kingdom here—to multiply house churches, release boldness among workers, and raise up movements that bring lasting change.

PRAY for the spread of the Gospel among unreached people groups in Dar es Salaam, Gujarati, Eastern Punjabi, Somali, and others, so they may encounter Christ and find true peace.

PRAY for courage, wisdom, and protection for church planters and Gospel Surge teams as they go into neighborhoods, homes, and communities to plant and water seeds of faith.

PRAY for a mighty wave of prayer to rise in the historic church, beyond church walls, so that believers will step out compassionately, boldly, and holistically, bringing God’s love into every corner of the city.
