Praying for Youth in Almaty, Kazakhstan

Praying for Youth in Almaty, Kazakhstan

Kazakh means “to wander,” and stan means “place of.” For generations, their identity has been shaped by movement—nomads across the steppe, seekers across centuries. Yet now, their wandering feels deeper. Beneath the progress and prosperity, many hearts are still searching for home.

This land is rich with oil, minerals, and resources, but the greatest treasure is the youth—half the nation is under 30 - full of energy, ideas, and longing. After seventy years under Soviet rule, when faith was silenced and hope was crushed, a new generation is rising—one asking questions that politics, wealth, and tradition cannot answer.

We pray that Almaty, the city and the people, would discover not just freedom of the body, but freedom of the soul—resting in the arms of a loving Father who welcomes all who wander.

PRAY for the youth of Almaty, Kazakhstan to find the One who brings identity and purpose.

PRAY for the church in Almaty to be bold and unified in sharing the gospel across all ethnic groups and languages, despite the threat of retribution.

PRAY for a mighty spiritual awakening, that centuries of wandering and oppression would give way to revival.
