Experiencing the Joy of the Lord

Experiencing the Joy of the Lord

PAOC Global Workers, David & Eileen, left a 30-year pastoral ministry to serve overseas in 2014. Since then, they have had hundreds of students pass through their home and hearts, with more arriving this fall. Here is how each of them describes a highlight of that work.

Every teacher needs a little encouragement. Last semester, a student told me (David) that a class he took with me on apologetics changed his life. He is developing his apologetic technique… and as a francophone has begun our English MTh program.

I (Eileen) work with students more on a personal basis than on an academic one. One of our students had met a new friend while she was on her ministry week. Last September, she contacted us and wanted to introduce us to her friend. It is a great privilege to be able to speak into our students lives. David and I were able to provide their premarital counselling, and they were married in August. It is just a wonderful opportunity to see young people develop and make huge decisions like choosing their lifetime partner.

PRAY for favour and effectiveness with students as David seeks to teach in two languages and cultures, English and French in both seminary and local churches.

PRAY for effectiveness that people will feel welcomed and loved and wanted.

PRAY also for David as he continues to receive treatment for cancer.
