As millions of Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and others celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights on November 1st, homes and communities are illuminated with lamps symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair.
For followers of Jesus, this season is an opportunity to pray for the people of South Asia and Hindu communities around the world. Jesus declared, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
As families gather to celebrate, let us ask God to reveal His love, truth, and hope through Jesus Christ.
PRAY for spiritual revelation. Ask God to open hearts and minds to the hope and transforming love found in Jesus, the Light of the World.
PRAY for Christian workers and churches. Pray for wisdom, sensitivity, and opportunities to build meaningful relationships, demonstrate Christ's love, and share their faith with grace and respect.
PRAY for families and communities. Ask God to bless families with peace, reconciliation, and joy. Pray that those searching for hope and meaning would encounter the life-changing love of Jesus.
