The Rajput Muslims of Kashmir are among the world’s least-reached peoples. Approximately 230,000 Rajput Muslims live among eleven clans in Kashmir, speaking Hindi, Urdu or Kashmiri. According to current ministry information, there are no known followers of Jesus among them.
Reaching this community presents significant challenges, but it also reminds us why prayer matters. Workers are needed who are willing to learn the language and culture, build genuine relationships, and patiently share the love of Christ. There is also a particular opportunity for Christians with agricultural experience to use their professional skills to build relationships and serve among the Rajput.
May the invitation of Revelation 22:17 become a reality among the Rajput of Kashmir: that those who are thirsty would “take the free gift of the water of life.”
PRAY for spiritual breakthrough, that Rajput Muslims who are seeking truth would encounter Jesus and that the first followers of Christ would emerge from among these communities.
PRAY for workers, that God would call and equip Canadian and Indian believers with compassion, perseverance, language ability and professional skills to serve among the Rajput.
PRAY for open doors, for favour with government and visa officials, protection for workers and national partners, and the resources needed to establish long-term ministry among the Rajput Muslims of Kashmir.
