Murray Cornelius, Mission Global Executive Director, is calling parents and grandparents to support their sons and daughters who God calls to the nations, particularly to unreached. We need a new generation of young Canadians who will go to those with little or no access to the gospel, to people have no one to tell them about Jesus. One way for parents to help shape their children’s vision is to expose them to other cultures through a study abroad program after high school.
Studying abroad can be more than education—it’s a pathway to mission. In this 3-min video, a global worker shares how going as a student opened doors for long-term visas, cultural learning, friendships, and gospel conversations. He shares insights about safety and the lasting impact of intentional relationships. View video here.
The Mission Global team is prepared to support parents and their youth in exploring options, but the foundational piece is prayer.
PRAY that an unquenchable spiritual hunger will grip youth and their parents/grandparents so that conversations around ‘going’ become natural conversations.
PRAY God’s word from Joel 2:28b be demonstrated in our families, “...Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”
PRAY for a God-breathed openness to sending our sons and our daughters go the ‘ends of the earth’ in obedience to God’s call.
