Serving Children in Tumultuous Haiti

Serving Children in Tumultuous Haiti

PAOC global worker, Louise Charbonneau, has a vision to witness more young people and children come to Christ in Haiti while also providing them access to education, to give them hope for a brighter future.

According to the UN, nearly half the population battle with extreme poverty and many families struggle to feed themselves. Nearly 1.3 million people have been displaced due to gang violence. Since October 2025, more than 1,600 schools have been closed in Haiti due to armed violence and population displacement. ChildCARE Plus helps children in Haiti to attend school and move out of the cycle of poverty.

Sadly, on December 13, 2024, Michel went to be with the Lord. Louise has continued the ministry in Haiti and the Fortress school remains open in spite of the tumult in the country.

Three months ago, Hurricane Melissa killed at least 43 people across Haiti, many of them in Petit-Goâve, where residents are still digging out from under the storm that unleased deadly flooding.

PRAY for an end to the political instability, gang violence, and natural disasters in Haiti.

PRAY for those impacted by Hurricane Melissa. Have mercy on them, Lord.

ASK GOD to transform lives of those living in poverty and fear by the powerful name of Jesus.

PRAY for Louise in the second year after Michel’s passing. May the Lord comfort, guide and provide all she needs.
