One of the joys of mission work is the creativity God uses to see His mission accomplished. L. left her Canadian home and business and moved to Southeast Asia into a restricted country and in the middle of an unreached people group. As she entered, she started a coffee shop and restaurant and now has begun a ministry to girls rescued from human trafficking. The ministry is whole life as well as vocational training for these girls. No one in the nation is doing this kind of work, and it is opening beautiful doors for Jesus to walk through!
Since opening in 2021, The Well has walked a challenging road. Sales declined month after month, testing faith and resolve, yet God’s whisper has been clear: “Stay the course. I am not finished yet.” Anchored in Proverbs 3:5-6, this season has become one of deep trust and quiet obedience. In August, the downward trend finally turned, and by January 2025 sales were up 40%, a reminder that God is faithful in His timing.
Alongside the business journey, God is clearly at work in people’s lives. Ayi, once an outcast, now walks weekly with Lynn, asking honest questions that gently lead to Jesus. Dewi, who arrived without dreams, has stepped into confidence and now runs her own café, still calling The Well her family. These are holy moments of transformation, evidence that this work is about far more than sales.
PRAY for Ayi, that curiosity would grow into a desire to know Jesus.
PRAY for the right staff to lead, mentor, and disciple students at the training centre.
PRAY for a clear, sustainable financial framework for the training centre’s future.
