PAOC global worker, Stephen Hertzog, serves as Regional Director for Eurasia, along with his wife, Patti. They have witnessed a great move of God in Ukraine and are encouraged by what the Lord is doing throughout Eurasia. Here are two stories that help us to pray:
In 1998 a global worker in Ukraine wanted to open a bible college to train national leaders but had no money. So, his church in Chatham, Ontario gave the funds. One of the first students was a young man named Pasha, who later became the lead pastor of the Dnipro church.
Pasha has been heading the church and is the district leader of the Dnipro region. His church has planted 13 more churches, four in 2024 alone, where they provide aid and the gospel to refugees and the needy. However, Pastor Pasha was forcibly drafted into the Ukrainian army in January! He is in training in an infantry unit and has already led two men in his unit to Christ. Please pray for his safety, and for the appeal Stephen is submitting for his release from service.
In late 2023 a lady named Tania was having dinner in her kitchen. Suddenly a Russian missile landed in her living room and obliterated half the house. Miraculously, she survived with only minor injuries. Shortly after, a team from one of Pasha’s churches came to her village with aid. Tania got food, medicine and heard the gospel for the first time. She prayed for salvation and praised God for sparing her life. Because a church in Canada gave 28 years ago, today there are 13 new churches and Tania knows Jesus!
