PAOC global worker, R, reports that she is beyond blessed as she serves in a closed context in Asia, despite a shift in work from what she had originally anticipated. R works full-time at a Christian International School where 80% of students and many staff come from the majority religion. She reports the following ways God is at work.
“We focus on a Christ-centered curriculum, and it’s amazing to see students engaging with the gospel. I also connect with cleaners and bus drivers and teacher assistants, sharing faith in a community where they’re often overlooked. They now call me “sister,” and our relationship continues to grow. Here is an insight into some of the fruit.
Recently, a 10-year-old student shared that he was realizing his gods were fictional and that Jesus was real. This moment of understanding was profound. This student comes from a non-believing family, yet since August 2024, he’s been hearing about Jesus weekly.
I’m also moved by the story of a grade 13 graduate, the son of an ambassador, who had previously rejected Jesus but later sought Him. This is the power of God at work. I am committed to serving where He has placed me. This mission, though different than I imagined, is where God wants me, and I’m excited to see more lives transformed through His power.
PRAY that doors would open with local coworkers from the majority group, for meaningful connections and opportunities for impact and for boldness to walk in the Spirit as I share a Christ-centred curriculum.
PRAY for my health, as I have been struggling with recurring stomach issues.
PRAY spiritual protection and His empowerment during the increased spiritual activity during Ramadan. May many come to see Jesus as Lord just as my student did.
