Filling a Need for Equipping Graduate Students

Filling a Need for Equipping Graduate Students

PAOC global worker, Riku Tuppurainen, ministers alongside the GlobalEd team in helping to develop effective graduate level programs and responding strategically to the needs of our partner institutions (Bible colleges, seminaries, and universities) as they arise.  Here is what Riku is seeing, and how to pray.

Student testimonies and comments about the education they are receiving in our partner institutions are very encouraging. Students are recognizing that their learning is not only a fulfillment of a course or degree, but is providing valuable knowledge and skills for life and ministry. Here is one of those stories.

I grew up in a Buddhist family, where rituals and traditions were a big part of life. Everything changed when my mom became seriously ill when I was 13. My dad, feeling desperate, started attending a church looking for hope. Seeing my mom recover—and experiencing the love and support of the church—led me to put my faith in Jesus. For the first time, I found real peace and purpose.

In 2016, I joined a year-long discipleship training program in Nepal. In 2017, I began studying theology and later completed my Master of Divinity (MDiv) in 2023. Now I feel called to serve in church ministry and share Christ’s love with others, just as it was shared with me.

PRAY for the Lord's provision of wisdom, energy and financial resources for projects at Nepal Theological College, Continental Theological Seminary and Iceland.

PRAY for greater impact of and clearer processes for PAOC visiting teachers who want to invest in our partner institutions.

PRAY for the many students being impacted by training in graduate courses at our partner colleges globally. (Did you know we have more Bible College and Graduate students outside of Canada than inside?)
