Breaking Spiritual Strongholds Among the Malinke

Breaking Spiritual Strongholds Among the Malinke

This month, would you consider adopting the Malinke people in prayer, faithfully lifting them before the Lord? To learn more and download the Malinke Unreached People Group prayer sheet, click here.

The Eastern Malinke people of Guinea live in close-knit village compounds, often without electricity or running water, working as farmers, miners, and merchants. While many also move to cities for work, they remain deeply connected to their home villages. The Malinke highly value honesty, logical thinking, and public speaking, however, fear and spiritual manipulation shape much of daily life. Their faith blends Islam with traditional practices, including charms, sacrifices, divination, and spells meant to protect them from unseen forces.

Yet God is breaking through. One Malinke imam, after reading the New Testament, chose to follow the “Jesus Way.” Though he lost his wives, children, business, and community standing, he has remained faithful, and the Lord has miraculously protected his life twice!

Today, the Malinke New Testament has just been completed, opening new doors for many to encounter Christ in their own language.

PRAY that God would use the Malinke love for truth and reasoning to draw hearts to Jesus.

PRAY that demonic strongholds of fear, charms, and spiritual bondage would be broken.

PRAY that the New Testament would spread widely, raising new believers who share Christ with their families and villages.
