Southeast Asia

My dream is to see actors and musicians use their incredible talent to create Christian content for Southeast Asian audiences, while also shining the light of the gospel within their entertainment industry.

The Southeast Asia entertainment industry is full of many vices and hardships—mental illness, identity crisis, political interference, alcohol/drugs/sex, gangs, and other forms of spiritual darkness. Specifically, within the entertainment industry, over 70% of the artists are diagnosed with depression and/or bipolar. Over 60% of female artists are forced by their agencies to show too much skin, which makes body shaming a daily reality for many.

As an entertainment chaplain and musician, out of the 150 artists that I closely work with, about one-third of them are battling eating disorders. All artists are also forced to participate in pagan ceremonies before any live recording, filming, or concert. We now have all our Christian artists gather together to pray before this ceremony.

Despite it being incredibly difficult to build relationships with these entertainers, by God’s divine arrangement, I’m in the centre of their world. I lead a Christian organization for artists that currently has approximately 150 members. We offer online and in-person discipleship training and Bible studies/small groups. By God’s grace, we have multiplied to seven small groups of 10-20 individuals, with over 16 leaders to help me co-lead each group. I baptized six new members last year!
