Integrity should be the foundation of who we are from a young age onward. Nevertheless, it is something that has to be taught and learned over time. Thus, we developed a training program that morphed into an organization titled Commissioning a Lifestyle of Integrity (CLI).
As the director of CLI, I (Bill) lead a core team of four, in addition to collaborating with executive national teams in eight African countries. Our desire is to continue expanding all over the world. At this point, we have trained more than 50,000 leaders. We’ve also written training materials and conducted numerous summits.
I also co-founded Bridging China & Africa (BCA), an organization that seeks to serve Chinese workers who are part of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative in Africa. These workers don’t speak the local language well and are housed in separate compounds from the community. As a result, isolation and misunderstanding can often exist between these workers and the local people.
We operate the BCA Cultural Centre in Zambia that seeks to offer Chinese workers a place to orient themselves to their new community, engage in fun activities, and eat quality meals. We seek to build a bridge of introducing them to not only new friends but also our “Forever Friend."
After 39 years of pastoral leadership, we felt called to become global workers. The shift came as no surprise: we’ve always had a passion for missions. For 30 years, we sought to develop leaders and conduct evangelistic outreaches overseas. We also helped plant over 500 churches worldwide. We also assisted in establishing a Canadian charity called Loads of Love, which provides crisis relief and mission support.
