My history with mission work date back to 2014, first serving in Palm Springs with Habitat for Humanity. After that I did 3 years of serving with YWAM with outreaches to Papua New Guinea (Pacific Link medical vessel doing Optom/Primary health care/ Dental and Evangelism outreaches) to Brazil (Amazon Reach doing bible study/ Children's ministry/ bible distribution to River Communities). When I was home I would volunteer at homeless feedings at a local church/street ministry. In 2018, I took a chance to go to Uganda to deliver clothing with a priest named Fr. Bomukama Denis.
Although I had no idea what the situation was like in Uganda, God opened up an opportunity for us to create a project that could help the poor called Farm for the Future; a goat farm that sold goats to provide educational funding for less fortunate children. Since then, the project developed into a community based NFP called Wind Of Hope that now includes a School (Mary Queen of Peace) and a health care centre (Center of Mercy) alongside the goat farm. This experience helped me realize that in order to see change you have to see the need, therefore keeping oneself observant to the need and knowing what resources are at disposal can truly bring change!
