We are natives of Mindanao in the Southern Islands of the Philippines, and raised our three children in Greater Vancouver, who are now happily married with three granddaughters. After retirement, we became commissioned global volunteers with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. With experience at World Vision International in family and community development across the Philippines and Asia Pacific, we've also served as Urban Missionaries and Intercultural Community Advocates in Canada for 35 years.
I (Marlene) am a certified Addiction Counselor specializing in substance abuse, drug and alcohol addictions, and addictive behaviors, and have extensive experience in treatment, rehabilitation, job placement, and housing programs for women and children in Canada's First Nations Tribal and Indigenous communities.
