I will be partnering with Youth for Christ Puerto Rico (YFCPR) as they reach the young people of this island. YFCPR staff and volunteers see the hope and potential in every young person we meet, and we reach them through community specific programs. During the events in schools and the community we develop relationships with young people and share the Gospel. Motivated by our faith, we believe that transformed youth can transform communities, their country, and the world
I will be tasked with developing a leadership program for the students we are discipling, equipping them to take ownership for the ministry and to be bold with the Gospel wherever God leads them. I will also have the opportunity to lead the summer internship program. I have seen interns grow during their time at YFCPR - personally and spiritually – including those that God is calling to the nations during their internship. I am looking forward to working with the people God sends to the island, supporting them both logistically and spiritually during their internship. I will also be responsible for reformatting the current young adult program with the focus on fellowship with one another, building each other up, and sending out. We want to see our young adults serve in the ministries of YFCPR as leaders and mentors as well as see them sent out to their local churches, communities, the island, and beyond.
Growing up, I had a heart for how God was working both locally and abroad. I jumped on the opportunities I had to work alongside missionaries, even if for a week at a time.
While completing my university degree in the Applied Social Sciences, my heart to work with individuals and communities for the sake of the Gospel only grew. During two of my summers through university, I served with Youth for Christ in Puerto Rico to reach the young people of the island with the Gospel. While there, I led mission teams, run programs, go to local schools, and mentor students. While there the second time, God called me to return to the island as a global worker.
As I have been preparing to enter the mission field, I have been using my time to serve the young people in Canada through my current job as Youth Director at my church.
