Portrait of an elderly couple seated close together, looking at the camera with a calm expression. The man wears glasses, a brown jacket over a plaid shirt, and the woman is dressed in a beige cardigan over a light blue top. They are seated against a soft, mottled tan background, resting their arms on a fluffy white surface.

Global Volunteer | Worldwide

Les & Lois Paulsen

At this age-stage in our lives, our vision is to develop a team of seasoned global workers with a passion to ensure the next generation of missionaries are well-equipped for long-term, fruitful life and ministry, and especially mobilized to go beyond where the Gospel has already gone -- to reach the world’s remaining Unreached and Unengaged Peoples. When we are not travelling internationally, we serve part-time on the pastoral staff in our local church and enjoy time with our growing family of 10 grandchildren and our great-granddaughter.

Ministry History

The greatest need of the world today is still what Jesus said - more workers for the harvest! After leaving pastoral ministry in 1998 to serve Ukraine, in 2002, we responded to the call to multiply labourers, primarily in non-western, emerging missional churches around the world. Since then we also lived and served in Turkey and Indonesia. Along the way, we've been privileged to provide training in many countries, from the Philippines to Argentina, from Zambia to Russia as well as serving our own PAOC global workers at Segue and on-line.

In 2016 we had to return to Canada for health reasons. We are now Canada-based and serve part-time. The work goes on, however, with opportunities to mobilize more missionaries in places like Argentina, Cuba, Ukraine, Dominican Republic, and India.
