As Canada-based global workers, we teach both online and in-person in Bible colleges and Christian universities throughout Africa, particularly in Kenya, Zambia, and Liberia. We also preach in local churches, often pastored by our current college students or recent graduates.
I (Michael) teach courses such as Missiology, Christian Apologetics, Christian Leadership, Pentecostal Theology, Synoptic Gospels, and many other courses. I am not limited to one area but seek to teach a variety of courses, in order to impact the entirety of a student’s life—both personal and pastoral.
Over our many years ministering in Africa, we have witnessed more Bible colleges and Christian universities become increasingly nationalized. We love seeing this, as this has been our intention! We have watched former students become faithful and fruitful pastors, church planters, college teachers and principals, district leaders, and national leaders.
We have served in the PAOC since 1984 and Africa since 1989—over 38 years of ministry experience. I (Michael) have served as lead pastor of three churches in Ontario—Parry Sound, Smith Falls, and Hamilton. We have taught in Bible colleges in Liberia, Togo, Zambia, and Kenya. I (Michael) obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theology from Master’s College & Seminary and McMaster Divinity College in 1984 and 1993 respectively. I then completed a Doctor of Ministry in 1999 from Knox Theological Seminary. We also served as interim pastors of a local church in Ndola, Zambia, and I (Michael) served as academic dean of a Bible college in Nyang’ori, Kenya. We have also been actively involved in various humanitarian-type ministries on the African continent: maternity wards, (Sheila), prisons (Michael), and primary school classrooms (Sheila).
