With a population of 47 million people, Spain has become a fully post-Christian nation with less than 1% claiming to be Christian. A main city in Spain, Barcelona contains 5 million people and is known to be a culturally rich yet secular city.
In response to this gospel need, we work in conjunction with the International Church of Barcelona. I (Scott) serve on the church lead team and am the project manager for the new church building, café, and ministry spaces. I (Melissa) serve as the children’s pastor. Along with an incredible team of women, I also plan large outreach gatherings for women and girls.
Through leading and facilitating community groups, business endeavours, outreaches, and church activities, together we seek to respond to God’s prompting to see hearts transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We served for 11 years in El Salvador with a global ministry called King’s Castle. Our focus was to reach children, ages 4-14, with the gospel and then disciple them. We also worked with students from Master’s Commission (a nine-month discipleship program) to provide small business and finance training with on-the-job opportunities. We also hosted numerous short term mission teams and worked closely with national leaders and missionaries from around the world. We have two amazing children: Sophia (age 18) and Hudson (age 16).
