GLOBAL OPPORTUNITY
English Teacher
An opportunity in Sri Lanka invites English-proficient volunteers to help students grow in fluency and confidence through engaging, personalized instruction. Teachers create supportive learning environments that encourage meaningful conversation, cultural exchange, and long-term appreciation for the English language. While ESL training is helpful, it is not required. Strong communication skills, clear explanation of concepts, and the ability to build rapport with learners are essential for meeting students’ diverse needs and fostering effective language development.
Purpose
An opportunity exists in Sri Lanka for people interested in helping students improve their English skills. A good teacher provides personalized and engaging topics that help a language learner achieve fluency and confidence in English. Their interaction with students also helps them enrich their cultural understanding as well as access English language ministry resources. Teachers create a supportive and motivating learning environment that fosters both linguistic competence and a lifelong appreciation for the English language.
Skills
Proficiency in English language and grammar is essential, along with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner. Experience and/or education in teaching English as a second language (ESL) is helpful but not required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for building rapport with students and understanding their unique needs and learning styles.
Support
Our Mission Global team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and fundraising efforts.
