Purpose 

Schools of Hope is seeking experienced professionals to help establish a sustainable mental health and educational support ministry for vulnerable children and families in Honduras. Rather than simply filling a position, our vision is to develop a long-term, locally led team of Honduran professionals equipped to provide emotional, educational, behavioural, and family support. 

This role will focus primarily on children in our ChildCARE Plus program while also exploring opportunities to serve other children and families within the surrounding community. Whether serving as a short-term consultant or a long-term team member, you will play a key role in building systems, developing care strategies, and mentoring future Honduran leaders. 

Skills 

We are looking for individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Psychology
• Counselling
• Social Work
• Educational Therapy
• Special Education
• Learning Support
• Child Development
• Trauma-informed Care
• Family or Caregiver Support

Ideal candidates will have the ability to: 

• Assess children's emotional, educational, and behavioural needs.
• Develop care plans, support strategies, and intervention processes.
• Create systems for assessments, referrals, documentation, and follow-up care.
• Support children experiencing trauma, learning challenges, emotional difficulties, or behavioural concerns.
• Provide counselling, caregiver education, and family guidance.
• Train, mentor, and equip Honduran staff and volunteers to carry this ministry forward. 

Support 

Our Missions Global team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and fundraising efforts.
