GLOBAL OPPORTUNITY
English Teacher
This opportunity invites qualified teachers to serve in Thailand’s growing English-language education sector while building meaningful relationships within local communities. Teachers work in local schools and act as bridges between the educational community and local churches, demonstrating the love of Christ in a context where fewer than 1% are Christian. A teaching degree and cross-cultural flexibility are required. Positions typically begin in May and may include local salary, housing assistance, and support from global workers, pastors, and school leaders.
Purpose
English has become one of the primary world languages and many Thai students are now studying in English schools throughout the country. Live in the mountains, the city or near the ocean. The door is open for you to reach the heart of these Thai children, parents and into the lives of those who are within the Educational Community. With less than 1% Christian, many are waiting to experience the love of Christ for the first time. We need qualified teachers to become part of the Educational Community in various communities throughout Thailand.
These teachers will become full time personnel for a local school but will also serve as a relational bridge between the school and the church. Opportunities for training of teachers or government personnel may arise through involvement in the community as well as local church ministry involvement. Salaries (at local salary rates) may be available, depending on location, and at the decision of the local school.
Skills
Undergraduate teaching degree is a minimum requirement. Some teaching experience preferred. Must be available for a full school term, which starts in May of each year. Opportunities may be available for those available to teach one term (May-September or November-March) but preference given to one year terms. An ability to be flexible, good interpersonal skills, and willingness to engage cross culturally will be needed.
Support
Global workers on-field would be main support, but if not on location, support will also be provided through local pastors and school leaders. Some locations provide housing or the local team will assist you in finding local accommodations. On-field team will provide orientation to the local community, local church and pastors. Salaries (at local salary rates) may be available, depending on location, and at the decision of the local school. However some fundraising will be required to cover additional expenses.
Our International Missions team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and fundraising efforts.
