Purpose 

Opportunities exist for volunteer ministers in Israel working with Ukrainian and Russian refugees providing holistic support to individuals and families who have been displaced by conflict. This role involves offering spiritual guidance, emotional support, and practical assistance to help refugees navigate their new environment and cope with the trauma of displacement. By fostering a sense of community and belonging, the volunteer minister helps refugees rebuild their lives, organize community activities, and facilitate access to essential services such as housing, education, and healthcare. Their work is crucial in promoting healing and integration, helping refugees to find hope and stability amidst their challenging circumstances.  

Skills 

A volunteer in Israel working with Ukrainian and Russian refugees needs a diverse skill set to effectively support this vulnerable population. Functionality in Russian or Ukrainian is necessary for clear communication and to provide comfort in the refugees' native tongues. Deep cultural sensitivity and understanding are essential to bridge cultural differences and to address the specific emotional and spiritual needs of the refugees. The minister must possess strong interpersonal skills to offer compassionate support and guidance, helping refugees cope with the trauma and uncertainty they face.
