English-Speaking Pastor
City Church International (CCI) in Bratislava, Slovakia, is an English-speaking congregation seeking a lead pastor to provide spiritual leadership and outreach to expatriates and English-speaking locals. As a branch of City Church Bratislava, the pastor will serve as part of the larger CCB staff team under the network’s lead pastor. Ideal candidates bring strong intercultural communication, theological depth, and leadership skills, along with compassion and cultural adaptability. This role offers a unique opportunity to shepherd a diverse community in one of Central Europe’s most dynamic capitals.
Purpose
City Church International (CCI) an international (ie; English speaking) church in Bratislava the capital of Slovakia is looking for an English-speaking lead pastor to provide spiritual leadership and outreach to expatriates and English-speaking locals. CCI is a branch-campus of City Church Bratislava (CCB), so the CCI pastor is part of the larger CCB staff team & under the general direction of the CCB network lead pastor. International churches in European cities are important because they provide spiritual support, a sense of community, and cultural integration for expatriates and English-speaking residents, helping them maintain their faith and connect with others in a foreign environment.
Skills
An international pastor in a European city needs strong intercultural communication skills to navigate diverse backgrounds and languages within the congregation. Good theological knowledge and the ability to convey spiritual truths clearly are also important as much of the ministry involves building relationships and sharing with university students and/or young adults. Effective organizational and leadership skills are essential for managing church operations, coordinating volunteers, and strategic planning. Compassion and empathy are crucial for providing pastoral care and counseling. Additionally, adaptability and cultural sensitivity help them understand and integrate local customs while maintaining their congregation’s unique cultural and linguistic identity.
