Water Engineer
Imagine Thailand strengthens communities through education, leadership, and development initiatives—like water filtration projects that provide clean water, improve health, and create business opportunities. Water engineers are needed to assess, install, and train local leaders in maintaining water systems, combining technical skill with community impact. Experience in water filtration and basic business operations is an asset, along with flexibility and cross-cultural adaptability. Volunteers and long-term workers receive housing support, cultural orientation, and ongoing team connection.
Purpose
Imagine Thailand exists to build strong communities, with and through local communities and people. We believe in the capacity of youth, university students and skilled professionals to create a new future for communities in need. We do this through leadership development in the university and marketplace, through education and teacher training, through community development initiatives. Community development initiatives, like water filtration systems, build bridges between the local church and local community, providing clean water for health and business opportunities for vulnerable peoples.
Skills
Water engineers are needed to assess and install clean water solutions as well as train national leaders in water filtration system installation and maintenance. Previous education or experience with water filtration system management is needed. Experience with the business side of water filtration would be an asset. Flexibility, independence and cultural adaptation expected. This opportunity is available for volunteers and those desiring to serve long-term (3-month min for volunteers, up to long-term).
Support
The on-field team consists of internationals, Thai and Burmese nationals. There is a Thai national director in each of the 4 regions. Depending on location, you will be in regular connection with your area team for staff meetings and devotions. We will provide help setting up accommodations and preparing for cultural adjustment with a 1-2 week on-boarding for ministry, including orientation to the local community and amenities.
Our Mission Global team will walk with you along the way – from application to deployment. Training, administrative support and mission coaching will be provided, along with assistance for promotional and fundraising efforts.
